The last month.

So this last month has been pretty busy for us. At the beginning of may Sam had his two week drill for national guard. That means he's gone for two whole weeks. And the weekend between it all he either gets to come home for a couple hours or he gets to come home for one night and this year he got to come home for a night. Which I love cause it gives me a little break from the single parent thing. Which is NOT easy at all. I don't get how a lot of single parents do it. Especially when they have more then one kid. Good for them though. I really do look up to people like that. Speaking of single parents. Sam being gone for two weeks gave me the chance to spend more time with one of my best friends. She is a single mom of two amazing little girls. One of then is 5 weeks older then Brodie. Our due dates were exactly two weeks apart but Ayla came early and Brodie came late. Little stinkers. Haha!

So why Sam was gone my friend Kirston amd I went on lots of walks. We walk to days market in Provo or up the canyon. We also planned a little trip to st George. We took the kids to play at sand hollow and just to get away. The kids loved playing at the lake. Every time I turned around Brodie was headed for the water. Ayla played in the sand because she had no idea what that stuff was and why it felt funny. And ambria was everywhere. The water and the sand. We taught her how to build sand castles and she thought it was the coolest thing ever. Our last night there while we were relaxing before dinner someone started pounding on our door. It freaked us out. Well turns out Sam and his friend Nate surprised us! Made my day. I miss him a lot when he's gone and Sam sucks at surprises. I'm shocked he kept that from me. It was a very good little get away.

The day after we got home Brodie decided he was ready to stand up by himself and a couple days later he took his first steps. Such a stinker though. He was taking steps for a good week and has now given up on it for now. He decided crawling is better i guess. I know Everyone tells me "oh you don't want him walking. Your in for it" well let me clarify. Brodie is already doing everything else! Climbing. Into everything. He is doing everything that everyone tells me "just wait for it." He's been doing it all since he was 12 months. Only difference is he isn't fast lol.

We have spent a lot of time outside this last months taking advantage of this nice hot weather. Brodie loves to go to my moms house. There's lots of things for him to destroy there. And he loves playing in the sandbox and swinging. My parents finally got their pool open. And every time we go over Brodie throws a fit until he can get in.

Brodie has a new "mad face" and I can't help but to laugh every time he does it.

My friend Sloan came to utah for a few days to hang out. She moved to Idaho when we finished hair school. It's been a year since I've seen her. And a year to long. I missed her a lot. It was nice because we got our old friends from hair school together. Sloan Took me and Shelbie to try on bridesmaids dresses for her wedding next summer. It was a lot of fun. Then we met up with Brenda at Texas Roadhouse. I'm sad to see Sloan leave.

This last week Kirston and I took the kids up to bridal veil falls. They now have a fish pond at the bottom of it (I didn't know they did. It's been a few years since I've been up there). Anyways the kids thought it was the coolest thing to feed the fish and have them swim by our feet. We took a little snack of fruit. And let the kids splash in the river.

Sam and I finally got our bikes out this summer. And we took Brodie in his buggy. He laughed and screamed and clapped. He loved it!!! We made it to my brothers last half of his soccer game. It was a lot of fun to watch Brodie because he would cheer for his uncle Corbin.

I am loving to watch Brodie as the months go by. He's learning so much everyday. Hes such a goofy kid and has so much personality. I will say I do not like the temper tantrums. That is the worst. But I think it's because Brodie never really cried until he hit 13 months. He is now 15 months and getting so big!

I am trying to keep up on my blog the best I can. Hope this is a good update.
